Foster & Adoptive Family Alliance of Westchester (FAFAW) is a nonprofit, 501(c) (3) charitable organization that is 100% parent-governed. Its mission is to support, educate and empower foster, adoptive and kinship families in Westchester County.

FAFAW was created by foster parents, for foster parents who felt disconnected and needed a safe space to meet other foster parents, ask questions, share experiences, and get support. We understand that the role of foster parents is like no other and that Foster Parents change the world one heart at a time. We are a trusted group of families that support and rely on each other with the interest of the children at the forefront.

Since 2018, FAFAW has been committed to supporting unique families by sharing resources, conducting workshops & training sessions, while providing opportunities to learn about the issues affecting children in foster care. We offer parent support groups, online discussion forums, and coordinate events for foster, adoptive and kinship families to enjoy. We celebrate every child’s success.
